2Justification
The problem or need
Training and test centres in nine remote governorates work from old leased buildings where energy costs SAR 11 per square metre a month and summer power cuts postpone tests.
Today
4,800 MWh a year, diesel back-up generators running 60 days every summer, and 2,600 tonnes of emissions a year.
3Objectives
- Nine model qualification centres for remote regions with an energy-efficient design, rooftop solar and storage that covers their whole demand.
Strategic objectives served
- SO-3.2 — Efficient, sustainable SCA facilities
4Expected benefits
| Kind | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Cost saving | Energy cost down from SAR 11 to SAR 4.2 per m² a month |
